Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.

I have been retired for 20 years and no longer do professional work. My career in professional photography began in 1968. My clients included publishers, corporations, and institutions. I was a member of the American Society of Magazine Photographers. I served on its board of directors and became its executive director in 1988. Upon retiring from that role in 2002 I wrote four books about various aspects of the media photography business. 

Since 2019 my cameras have been iPhone Pro models. The photos displayed here were shot on those iPhones as were the videos I have produced.   The image of me was taken by photojournalist. Leif Skoogfors.  Click on the image to learn more about him.
